OAKLAND — During the second day of a critical hearing for two former Ghost Ship tenants facing criminal charges related to the deadly fire last year, one witness testified that a police officer frequented the warehouse and even helped with an eviction. On the stand Thursday morning at the Rene. C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland, former tenant Jose Avalos continued his testimony from Wednesday. He said that an Oakland officer would “stop by and say hello to us,” while on patrol.
