Wine and Dine Gala. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Saratoga is hosting its Wine and Dine Gala on Saturday, Sept. 9, 5-8 p.m. The event will raise funds for the church’s work in the community. Casa Tierra, or House of Earth, is 13000 square feet and is the largest nonsecular adobe house in North America. The house was built from bricks handmade from the earth it stands on by original owners Maude Meagher and Carolyn Smiley in 1941. It served as a publishing house for a magazine called “World Youth.” Located on Quito Road, the house is listed on Saratoga’s heritage resource inventory.
